Indiana University (IU-CWA)

The Indiana University unit of the Communication Workers of America, Local 4818, enables non-exempt PAA staff to negotiate with IU for better wages, benefits, safety, and working conditions as a group, rather than fighting for those benefits as individuals. CWA has represented over 1,000 workers since 1993 and continues to expand membership and activity on the Bloomington and Northwest campuses.

We are the union, and we are stronger together. We support our members by:

• negotiating pay and policy with IU HR once every three years and meeting with campus HR quarterly to communicate policy changes and maintain a working relationship between our union and university. 
• representing and protecting fellow PAA staff with trained stewards who offer support throughout the grievance process in cases of workplace issues, misconduct, policy violation, and disputes.
• connecting the workers of IU-CWA 4818 with CWA members around the country in our collective struggle for labor rights and fair working conditions.
